Tots and Tutus is a 30-minute class focused on helping children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. During this “Mommy/Daddy and Me” class, children begin to understand spatial awareness and build gross motor skills. Teachers use music and movement to provide opportunities for children to freely express themselves while learning to be part of a group. This high-energy program is perfect for all children between 12 and 23 months.
Offered to all students 2-3 years of age. This class is a combination of Pre-Ballet, Tap and Tumbling. We offer convenient Weekday classes to fit your schedule. This class develops rhythm, creative ability, motor skills and coordination as well as an introduction to basic dance technique. We suggest, but do not require, the students take class 2x per week. It has been proven that students who dance at least 2x per week retain more and advance faster.
Offered to students in all levels. Because Ballet is the base and most important building block of all great dancers, we encourage all of our students to study the “foundation discipline of all dance”. In addition to the classical ballet technique, these classes develop poise, grace and proper body carriage.
Pointe is the epitome of all young ballerinas. This strenuous discipline is introduced in the Intermediate ballet level. Only those students who take 2 weekly ballet classes and are found to be qualified by their teacher may participate.
CONTEMPORARY – LYRICAL
Offered from Beginners through the Advanced/Professional levels. All styles of Jazz from Funk, Musical Theatre, Blues, and Broadway are in the DU repertoire. Contemporary and Lyrical have many individualized Ballet based styles. These classes develop body strength, flexibility and coordination for all students.
For all levels build concentration, coordination, rhythm, speed, dexterity and offer a broad knowledge of the classical style as well as contemporary and rhythm tap technique. An important class to help dancers improve in all disciplines.
HIP HOP / STREET DANCE CLASSES
These classes are fast paced, energetic and jam packed with fun! They are offered to students 6 yrs of age and older. A great way to introduce dance to a hesitant student & Boys love this class too! Male Scholarships offered.
KINDER CLASS PROGRAM
Offered to all students 3-5 years of age. This class is a combination of Pre-Ballet, Tap and Tumbling. We offer convenient Weekday and Saturday classes to fit your schedule. This class develops rhythm, creative ability, motor skills and coordination as well as an introduction to basic dance technique. We suggest, but do not require, the students take class 2x per week. These classes are recommended for Beginners! These classes, CI (Ballet and Tap) and CIJ (Ballet, Tap and Jazz) are planned to introduce students to the more advanced basic disciplines before they enter the higher more specialized and individual class levels.
Helps to develop strength, gymnastic skills, endurance and flexibility. They are offered to students who are 5 years of age or older. In addition to their Acro class, students MUST be enrolled in an additional “dance class” to help with their dance ability, coordination and overall progress.
Offered to those students who have reached the Intermediate level of ballet training. These classes are taught with emphasis on the Graham and Limón techniques, which develop the flexibility and strength of the body as well as demonstrating the interesting and fine skill of the modern style.
In Belly Dance, Adult Tap, Zumba, Salsa and Pilates will be offered when our schedule permits.
